Being mum during the holidays
Arts & Crafts
I know as all mums do, school holidays can be stressful. You have to do all the usual tasks while keeping the Child/Children entertained. All we want sometimes is to sit with a hot cuppa and maybe catch up on some daytime TV or the soaps.
I personally find having loads of activities to do like arts & crafts or if the weather is bad a movie marathon day makes the days easier. In the arts & crafts I get the really long rolls of paper. This way you get lots of different drawings from the children.
Rainy days
We personally have Disney+ so get to watch a wide range of films. To keep the girls happy we watch Disney princess or Pixar and to keep my eldest happy we watch the Avenger films. My personal favourite are the Avenger films but I am a huge Disney fan.
We also have a lot of board games, these range from junior games to teens. Junior grinch bingo is a favourite in our house we found this at Christmas from home bargains. We also have a few games on the PS4 we can all play.
Warm sunny days
On warm days in spring and summer we prefer to be outside. As a family we love taking the dog out on long walk through the fields, hitting several parks around the village. We also like to go small adventures in local areas, woodland walks or long tracks over local public grounds like Watership down in Kingsclere.
We have large German shepherd male dog who needs lot of excise. However our long walks give him good run around in the spring and warmer weather. He loves running through the woods and rivers/lakes.
Duke the GSD
Our 3 year old GSD is named Duke, when we got him he as around 15months old. As you can see he is long haired and his hair gets everywhere. He loves to chase balls and run in the local rivers. Coming to a small village was a big change for Duke after leaving a big city area. He was very confused by sheep the first time he saw them.
Wow some great advice here lovely pictures aswell xx
Thank-you. Lots more to come x
